[edit]DescriptionShoreham Hotel 1910s, Washington DC.png |
English: Back reads "The Shoreham, Washington, D. C. Located at 15th and H Street, N.W., one of Washington's most famous Hotels." Published by The Washington News Company, Washington, D.C. Colorchrome.
A history of a newer hotel that uses the Shoreham's name says, "The hotel’s name was taken from a previous Shoreham Hotel in Washington (built in 1889 by Levi P. Morton, Vice President of the United States under Benjamin Harrison), which was named for Morton’s hometown of Shoreham, Vt., which was founded in the early 1700s and named for Shoreham, England." |
