Ogawa led D3A dive bomber group from the aircraft carrier Kaga during the attack on Pearl Harbor and subsequent operations in the Pacific theater, including the raid on Midway island on 4 June 1942. He was killed on 4 June 1942 after the Midway raid when Kaga was hit by dive bombers from the US Navy carrier Enterprise during the Battle of Midway. |
