[edit]DescriptionShiranui-19420917-3.jpg |
English: Japanese destroyer Shiranui under repairs in the Maizuru naval arsenal. She had been crippled earlier on 5 July 1942 by a torpedo fired from the submarine USS Growler which blew off the entire forward third of the ship in the same torpedo spread that sank the destroyer Arare and crippled the destroyer Kasumi, requiring her to be towed to Japan. Repairs lasted until 15 November 1943, well over a year. |
