Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The wooden blanks are purchased at the shrine for the petitioner to write or draw their prayer so that it may be answered sometime in the future. After the message is complete the Ema is tied to a frame near the shrine's worship area that has been supplied for that purpose. Some requests are for a family or other group, but other times it is an individual prayer request.
