| Description | According to a NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission map, this gated and locked alley running south of Bond Street between Lafayette Street and Broadway in the NoHo neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City is part of Shinbone Alley, a north-south alley which run from north of Great Jones Street to mid-block south of Bond, where it supposedly connects with the east-west Jones Alley, an official named and signed (albeit gated and locked) NYC street. Because Jones Alley is named after Great Jones Street, it's possible that "Shinbone Alley" was once considered to be part of Jones Alley. (Source: The Street Book, NYCLPC NoHo Extension map) |
