Summary
[edit]DescriptionSheep Farming - geograph.org.uk - 792813.jpg |
English: Sheep Farming The metal structure on the right is a lamb creep feeder. The bars at the front are spaced so as to allow lambs to enter while adult sheep are too large to get in. Inside is a trough of what farmers call "cake", a concentrated mix of cereals, protein and other ingredients, designed to supplement the grass grazed by the lambs and the milk they receive from their mothers. This helps them to grow faster, which is what the farmer wants. The coniferous plantations of Coed Blaenduad can be seen beyond. |
