Description
English: The front draws a Chinese dragon British designer assumed it was the symbol of the Chinese government. The Chinese charcters are read in the order of right, left, up, down, which means "Shanghai one Tael", mistaken form of "one shanghai Tael". The coin was designed in 1867 and uncirculated as the Chinese government rejected the British offer of minting a new kind of coins in their market.
