St. Mary's Church is an interesting building which was reconstructed in the 17th century on the site of an earlier foundation partially destroyed by the fire of 1694. An interesting ceremony connected with this church is the distribution of the " dole " an institution founded in 1713, whereby thirty-two loaves are weekly distributed to the necessitous poor. |
