500px provided description: The picture can't reflect the wind-speeds of that day at Reynisfjara black beach in V?k, Iceland. I can't remember the 'actual number' but I barely could stay upright. Getting here was kind of scary too: the car just kept swaying away because of the wind pushing it out of the road.

But all of us have seen this postcard and I wanted to capture it too. So, I practically crawled looking for a nice spot that captured the mood (since then I'm in love of shooting in 'bad weather'). After totter around, I just saw this stream of water going into the ocean and immediately wanted it in the frame.

Taking the photograph was a challenging too. As sturdy as the tripod is, the wind just kept moving the camera and the long exposure wasn't sharp enough. Also, the drops of water from the ocean on the lens were an issue, so it took me a long time to set the final picture.

Pixel peepers will see the sharpness issues, both for the diffraction due to the necessity of shooting at f/16, and in part for the camera wobbling at 75mm (in order to get 'into the water'. I would have jumped in, but falling on freezing water wasn't on the plans).

I didn't do much post-processing. SOC was just perfect for me. I just adjusted some shadows, The only dilemma I had, was B&W vs. the 'color version'. Although is not much color to begin with, I think the actual tones of the mountain keeps the eye moving through the frame, leading to the 'trolls' struggling (as me) to get to safe lands.
