Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The courtyard has a fine fountain, and ditto buildings along its sides. On its west side is a raised platform, providing good sights. At the north side there is a row of domes over a building that changed between 2007 and 2012: a canopy was added in its front. The building is described below. On many pictures, as indicated in the name, one can see other elements of the complex, such as the mosque, the mausoleum, the medrese. On the east side a building housed a library. But this had been burned: dervishes lost their position when Mehmet II (1808-1839) suppressed the Janissaries (they were heavily into dervish religion), in particular books were confiscated. Building at north: from west to east: Zikir Room (young dervishes come together and chant), built in 1511. Kırklar Square, connected with the religious education of Bektashis. Kalife Square: where religious ceremonies called Ayin-i Cem are held. The caliph of the order sits and conducts the ceremonies. Bread House: There are two bakeries in this section. The ovens are placed on the east side of the domed room. In addition to this, there is a hearth, and there is another hearth on the north wall. Soup Kitchen (Imaret) : There are 8 hearths in the soup kitchen, which not only meets the food needs of the people in the complex, but also meets the needs of the poor people in the surrounding area. The soup kitchen is covered with a dome. The length of the chimneys of the hearths exceeds the dome. It is stated that it was built during the reign of Yavuz Sultan Selim.
