Palais des congrès de Montréal Festival « Les saison du Palais », édition 2020. Seuils est une installation de Michel de Broin composée d’une succession de portes du métro de Montréal. L’œuvre forme une trajectoire que le public est invité à suivre. L’installation requalifie la mécanique interne de dispositifs d’ouverture des anciennes voitures du métro de Montréal qui fut inauguré pour l’Exposition universelle de 1967. Maintenant remplacées par des équipements plus modernes, les voitures MR-63 aujourd’hui obsolètes ont marqué l’imaginaire du déplacement collectif à Montréal. Seuils offre donc un clin d’œil historique aux visiteurs du Palais en provenance des quatre coins du monde. Création et réalisation : Michel de Broin En collaboration avec : Samuel Saint-Aubin, Alexis Gosselin, Paul Duchaine, Pierre Fournier, Fred Monast, MDL Énergie, M.O., Generique Design, HMB Controls et Concept Paradesign. Production : Partenariat du Quartier des spectacles en collaboration avec la Société de transport de Montréal. Seuils a été créée et présentée en 2017 dans le cadre de KM3 un événement d’art public temporaire se déroulant dans le Quartier des spectacles. Initié par le Partenariat du Quartier des spectacles, KM3 constituait l’un des legs du gouvernement du Québec à la Ville de Montréal à l’occasion de son 375e anniversaire.
