Description Settle Junction signal box is located by the Down Main line where the Settle and Carlisle line leaves the Leeds to Morecambe line, and is a Midland Railway Type 4c design which opened on 14th September 1913 replacing an 1892-built signal box located a short distance to the north. The signal box opened fitted with a 25 lever Midland Railway Tappet frame which was replaced by a 31 lever London Midland Region Standard frame in 1960. The signal box was refurbished and rewindowed in 2003
