Français : La forme de ces six gouttes, caractérisée par l'angle de contact, varie car la tension de surface entre la goutte et le support n'est pas la même.

Plus le liquide a d'affinité pour le support, plus la goutte sera étalée ; autrement dit, plus l'angle de contact sera petit.

Parmi ces six paires, on peut donc dire que les deux composés ayant le plus d'affinité sont l'huile de ricin ("castor oil") et le Teflon, et ceux qui en ont le moins l'eau ("water") et le Teflon. La mesure d'angle de contact permet d'estimer la valeur de la tension de surface.

English: The shape of these six drops, caracterized by the contact angle, changes because the tension surface between the drop and the support is not the same.

If the liquid has a good affinity for the support, the drop will be more spread, and the contact angle will be smaller.

Amongst these 6 pairs, the compounds with most affinity are castor oil and Teflon, and those with less affinity are water and Teflon. The measurement of contact angle gives an estimation of the surface tension value.
