Number 1 has a wild feather crest Dutch/English Zondag, 1e Pinksterdag was het zover. Sunday, the 1st day of Pentecost was the day. I happened to be up early and as usual the first thing I do is feed the fish in the pond and now of course also look at the birdhouse. The birds were so restless and hip back and forth for the opening. That can only mean one thing! They are going to leave the nest box. So everything was put in place and as good as possible photos were taken. It is a rather shady corner. And believe me I've really been there all day. This was the first time I could see it happen and nobody would take that moment away. And I've known. They took the time for it. This was cool! Around noon, the two little ones flew into the tree. Just like that? No not really. They were like children running to the pool to realize at the last minute that the water could be very cold. Then go full in the brakes. In the same way it took hours before they left the nest. Was it empty? We expected it but no, there was another one. A number three and even a number four. Number three was literally kicked out of the door by Dad or Mom after all his twisting, and a 180 centimeter lower ended up on the floor. From there he has managed to reach the tree under the guidance of the parents. Number four has spent the night in the box to fly out in the morning. Taken care of to the last minute! The kick that hit number three was hilarious to see. I'll go out ... I will not go out .... I'll go out ... or maybe not. After two hours of yo-yo, Mom or Dad went in and pushed number three through the hole outside. Then the feeding of number four is taken up again and the flying lessons started from the ground. |
