Description
English: Now known as Sequoiadendron giganteum, this tree was named Wellingtonia gigantea by John Lindley in 1853. The chromolithograph was published in 1884 in the Pinetum Britannicum, edited by E. J. Ravenscroft; Lindley had been a collaborator when the work was begun in 1863.
Français : aujourd'hui connu sous le nom de Sequoiadendron giganteum, cet arbre fut nommé Wellingtonia gigantea par John Lindley in 1853. Cette lithographie fut publiée en 1884 dans le Pinetum Britannicum, édité par E. J. Ravenscroft; Lindley fut leur collaborateur lorsque ce travail débuta en 1863.
