English:

At the bottom of the image are orange buckets in a stack lying on their side and a pile of black tarps. In the center is an exposed area of earth. In the middle right is a white topped pop-up tent, people standing in yellow hi-vis vests. One person standing in an excavated pit up to their knees with orange buckets on the edge of the pit. Tree in the background and vegetation to the right.

Since mid-April 2023, an archeological contractor has been systematically and respectfully disinterring burials and grave markers from the portions of the Vicksburg National Cemetery impacted by the 2020 and 2021 landslides. In September 2023 recovery efforts in affected portions of Section T were completed shortly after this photograph was taken.
