Description The smoke plume resulting from the collapse of the World Trade Center after the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. This loop shows the plume from 12:16 p.m. EDT until 7:28 p.m. This period is after the destruction of both of the main towers, with 7 World Trade Center collapsing towards the end of this period. The radar is from the NWS NEXRAD radar in Philadelphia and was processed in the NCDC's JAVA NEXRAD tool.
