[edit]DescriptionSeparation of Rocket Stages During Apollo 4.webm |
English: This video shows the separation of two stages of the Saturn V launch vehicle during Apollo 4, an uncrewed test flight of the Apollo program. A camera mounted to the interior of the S-II, the Saturn V's second stage, records the separation of the S-IC, its first stage, and subsequent jettisoning of an interstage ring which connected the two stages. The onboard camera is then ejected. This video shows one of two pieces of footage which recorded the same event. Another camera was also mounted to the S-II, and similarly ejected. Both cameras and their footage were recovered. |
