Summary
[edit]DescriptionSeoul City Core from N-Seoul Tower (5464351080).jpg |
Looking north-northwest into the city core. Visible landmarks include the city council, City Hall, Lotte Department Store, and the Presidential Blue House. National Geographic, for its March 1969 issue, had taken a photo of downtown Seoul from this vantage point (though at the foot of the tower, as the tower was not complete until later in 1969). There were virtually no buildings taller than 10 stories in that photo, and aside from the Blue House (much smaller then than now), the city is practically unrecognizable. The grandest building in the 1969 view, the Central Government Building (formerly Japanese Governor-General Building), was demolished in 1995, and even if it remained standing, it would be very obscured by new skyscrapers in this view. |
