Description

UNESCO World Heritage, Royal Tombs of the Joseon Dynasty

Seosamneung Royal Tombs 'Huireung'

Huireung is the tomb of Queen Janggyeong(1491-1515), the second queen of King Jungjong, 11th monarch of Joseon. Queen Janggyeong was the daughter of Pawon Buwongun. She became a royal concubine in 1506, and queen the following year. The queen gave birth to Jungjong's son, Injong, and passed away in the palace of Gyeongbokgung at the age of 24 due to a postpartum illness.

유네스코 세계문화유산 조선왕릉

서삼릉 '희릉'

희릉은 조선 제11대 중종의 계비 장경왕후 윤씨의 능이다. 장경왕후는 파원부원군 윤여필의 딸로 중종 원년(1506)에 숙의가 되고 그 이듬해에 왕비가 되었다. 왕후는 중종 10년(1515)에 맏아들인 인종을 낳고, 산후의 병으로 인하여 25세로 경복궁에서 돌아가셨다.
