[edit]DescriptionSenovinis Senolių Alus (9835275464).jpg |
A glass of Senovinis Senoliu Alus from UAB Su Puta in Panevėžio r., Lithuania, on draught at Alaus Namai in Vilnius. Senovinis Senolių Alus is a 6.9% abv traditional country beer from the Gūrai family in Paliūniškis, produced after a recipe created by the grandfather of the current brewer - in 1859 according to the beer tap. It poured a hazy golden yellow with an offwhite head. It had a nice fruity aroma, with sour lemon, yeast and hints of floral hops, reminding me of a good German hefeweizen. Mouthfeel was medium heavy with a creamy texture. The taste was fairly fruity with earthy tones and a grass or straw like floral flavor. It had a slighty sour feel to it and finished with a mild bitterness, with a long fruity aftertaste. Wow! This is a delicious, slighty sour and fruity wheat beer. Can compete with the best German hefeweizen! |
