English: U.S. Senators representing their respective states of Montana, Maine, Colorado and Nebraska, listen as an Iraqi army officer from the 2nd Brigade, 9th Iraqi Army Division (Mechanized) explains to the group of Senatorial visitors about marked improvements in security in the village of Sab Al Bor, Iraq, during a briefing at a joint security station near the village Sept. 15. Col. Paul E. Funk II, commander of 1st "Ironhorse" Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, briefed the Senatorial delegation on the Ironhorse Brigade's role in assisting the Iraqi army and Iraqi police in on-going reconciliation efforts in the area. The senators were also briefed by the Sab Al Bor city manager who told them things have improved greatly over the past year in the village to where attacks have almost become nonexistent thanks to the added help of Iraqi security volunteers working with the Iraqi security forces and coalition forces in the village. |
