Description

Road side sales of cashews in Mozambique's informal economy.

At one time, Mozambique was the world's largest producer of cashews. In recent decades, Nigeria, India and Viet Nam have shared the top producer rank. The annual production and farm yields per hectare continue to rise for cashews. Since 2009, cashews displaced almonds as the world's largest tree nut crop.
