Rückseite: [B]ΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / [Α]ΝΤΙΟΧΟΥ. Elephantenkopf nach l., im r. F. ein Schiffsvorderteil (prora) nach l. Das zu ergänzende Monogramm im l. F. ist nicht erhalten. Kommentar: Mit gezacktem Schrötlingsrand (serratus) und dem Schiffsbug als Zeichen der Münzstätte Ptolemais-Ake. - Antiochos IV. Epiphanes war der zweitälteste Sohn des Antiochos III. Megas. Dieser hatte seinen Sohn nach dem Sieg der Römer über den Seleukiden bei Magnesia 190 v. Chr. als Geisel nach Rom schicken müssen. Nach einem Austausch gegen den Sohn des auf seinen Vater auf dem Thron folgenden älteren Bruders Seleukos IV. gelangte Antiochos IV. wieder nach Syrien zurück. 175 v.
