Deutsch: Der Hofgarten des Benediktinerstiftes in der niederösterreichischen Marktgemeinde Seitenstetten und dahinter das Stift.
Der spätbarocke ummauerte Garten wurde um 1780 angelegt und 1993 bis 1996 wieder hergestellt. Das Stift selbst ging aus einer Stiftung aus dem Jahr 1112 hervor. Die Klosteranlage wurde zwischen 1718 und 1747 zu einem 160 Meter langen „Vierkanter Gottes“ aus- und umgebaut, wobei die älteren, von der Spätromanik bis zum Frühbarock entstandenen Teile (Stiftskirche, Kreuzgang, Ritterkapelle etc.) von der mächtigen barocken Anlage umfangen bzw. in dieser aufgegangen sind. Verantwortlich für den Um- und Ausbau war der Barockbaumeister Joseph Munggenast und nach dessen Tod im Jahr 1741 führte Johann Gotthard Hayberger die Arbeiten zu Ende. |
