No. 2 Christianus Constantinus Rumphius [1633-1706] edited the 'Medicinae practicae compendium' of Johannes Andreas Schmitz [ -1652], first published in Paris in 1666, from which this extract is taken. 8 Thomas Wharton [1614-1673] first published his 'Adenographia' in 1656. On the verso of the last leaf of the note 'De rheumatismo' is a 'Rescriptum ad consultationem Suhardi pro Dno. de la Droetière Furry, asthmatico orthopnoico' dated 1670, and below a 'Rescriptum pro eodem morbo a Domino de la Martinière Medico Cenomanensi [Le Mans]': and on the next leaf two others for the same by Du Chesnay, a Physician of the same town.
