Die Aufnahme entstand am Rand der Wiesen am Schachsel in Seeste, einer Bauerschaft der Gemeinde Westerkappeln, Kreis Steinfurt, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Deutschland. Das ehemalige Naturschutzgebiet „Wiesen am Schachsel“ ist heute Teil des ausgedehnten Naturschutzgebiets „Düsterdieker Niederung“ sowie des Vogelschutzgebiets gleichen Namens.
