Summary

[edit]
Description

Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar was joined by U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell at a town hall meeting with the local San Juan Islands community about the long-term conservation of this special area.

Secretary Salazar heard directly from community members on the topic of creating the San Juan Islands National Conservation Area (NCA).

“It is great to hear that the passion and dedication of those here today is as strong as ever," Secretary Salazar said, "when it comes to making sure that this Northwest treasure is preserved for generations to come.”
