Description Secretary Bird, Masai Mara. This bird of prey walks long distances looking for snakes, lizards and rodents, which it primarily feeds on. The Secretary Bird stamps its prey to death, with its strong feet, and is so called due to the crest of feathers on its head, which resembles the quill pens behind the ear of secretaries of those days. (Oct/ Nov. 2010)
