Description
English: The Seaview Lighthouse in Hokitika, New Zealand, was built in 1879 out of kauri wood. It burned coal gas from the Hokitika town supply. The light was dismantled in 1924 and the tower was then used by the Seaview Mental Hospital as an observation tower. It was restored in 1999 and a replica lamp added in 2002.
