Description
English:

Work on Seattle's city-owned Cedar River water supply system began in the spring of 1899. By May 1900, the project had progressed far enough for city dignitaries to make an official visit. Seattle photographer and civil engineer Anders Wilse documented the event. This May 1900 photo shows Seattle officials during their official tour of the Cedar River watershed. Less than a year later, Cedar River water flowed through the new network of pipelines and reservoirs to Seattle residents and businesses.
