Page 142 of brochure Seattle and the Orient (1900). This page includes text plus three photos captioned, respectively "S.S. 'Farallon'", "S.S. 'Tacoma'", and "Residence of J. E. Galbraith, 109 Fifteenth Ave. N." The Farallon and Tacoma were both steamers engaged in the Alaska trade and other ocean voyages. Fifteenth Ave. N. is now Fifteenth Ave. E. Polk's Seattle City Directory 1899 (Polk's Seattle Directory Co., 1899), p. 96 describes it as "From Denny Way north, sixth east of Broadway," which describes today's Fifteenth Ave. E. |
