Deutsch: Classieren der Sealfelle. Vor allem werden die Felle der Dichtheit nach in verschiedene Sorten eingeteilt. Die Zahl dieser Sorten wird sich natürlich nach der Grösse des zu sortierenden Looses richten. Wir benennen die Qualität wie folgt: Pr. Prima - Prima - Ex. - Ex - A - B - C - . Um die Dichtheit gut feststellen zu können, ist es notwendig gleich am Anfange ein Typfell jeder der vorgenannten Sorten zu suchen. Jede dieser einzelnen Sorten kann dann in verschiedene Rauchen geschieden werden, z. B.: Rauch, Halbrauch, Flach. Hierauf werden die Felle auf den brauchbaren Inhalt ausgemessen. Da die Länge des Felles stets im Verhältnis zur Breite ist, so geschieht das Ausmessen am leichtesten mittels einer Tafel, wie nebenstehende Figur zeigt. Felle von 90 cm Länge geben im Durchschnitt 24 m. u. s. w. wie die Tafel angiebt. Die auf diese Weise gewonnen übereinstimmenden Sorten, werden im Bunde zusammen gehoften.
