[edit]
Description
English: A unique polar low over the Sea of Japan with the very distinct eye-like feature was captured by the Terra satellite at 11:13 Japan Standard Time or 13:13 Magadan Time on December 20, 2009. With a cold-core low aloft, the polar low had a roughly circular ring of deep convection and brought gale-force winds and heavy snowfall to Hokkaido and Sakhalin.
