Summary
[edit]DescriptionSea Wall - geograph.org.uk - 1300258.jpg |
English: Sea Wall In this grid square, little of the beach is exposed even at low tide; none was exposed at all when this photo was taken.
However, for those who are willing to venture out onto their seaweed-covered surfaces, there are also three sea-walls that extend out from the beach in this area (which is the vicinity of Helensburgh's Eastbay Esplanade); each wall contains a pipeline. From the photographer's position (at the extreme end of the wall), the nearest 100 metres or so of the wall's length lies within this gridquare; the remainder lies in a different square (as does the entire length of the other two sea-walls that are located nearby). See https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1300831 for the view in the opposite direction. At the shoreward end of the wall, a small gap in the buildings is visible; this is a little lane that leads to the shore from the junction of Clyde Street East (the A814, the main shore-side road) and Lomond Street. |
