Description |
From Thebes, Temple of Karnak. Sculpture of a ceremonial boat, it carried a statue of Queen Mutemwia. Part of the statue's head is also in the British Museum. Mutemwia means ‘the goddess Mut in the boat’. The back of the statue is carved with vulture wings. Mut is shown as a vulture, so the sculpture is a visual pun on the queen's name. |
