Description
Dansk: ’Nordlyset’, 3 master bark, bygget af maler Ove Andersen, Slagelse 1993 - 1994

ophængt 11. december 1994 i Sankt Mikkels Kirke, Rosengade 4, 4200 Slagelse

Skænket af Ove Andersen, med sponsorbidrag fra Marineforeningens Slagelse afdeling, Slagelse Sparekasse og reklametegner Mogens Juul Jørgensen, Slagelse.

I modellen er der nedlagt et brev og en 5 kr.

Egetræsskib bygget i 1852 hos I. Løve & Søn, Helsingør til Den kgl Grønlandske Handel. Agterskibet hækbygget med fladt Spejl (platgattet). Lasteevne 300 T.

Første rejse 13. maj 1853 – 15. november 1853 til Umanak og Upernavik, ført af Magnus Bang.

I de 74 år skibet sejlede, udførte det 111 rejser.
