Summary
[edit]DescriptionScots Pine in Glen Mallie - geograph.org.uk - 1105685.jpg |
English: Scots Pine in Glen Mallie A welcome change from larch and sitka, there are still acres of scots pine in the glen. It's nice to be able to categorise the picture under "Trees" rather than "Forestry". Closer inspection, however, shows 20 dead for every live example, and few obvious young trees.
The track is not that shown on the current OS maps; the track on the map lies between the new forestry track and the river, and is an altogether less brutal (if somewhat boggier) approach to the glen. |
