According to Françoise Launay, these are the identities of the photographed, from left to right: Pierre Marie Arents (standing), Félix Tisserand (seated), Lieutenant Jean Picard (standing), Jules Janssen (seated), Makoto Shimizu, helmsman Mercier, Francisco Antônio de Almeida Júnior and helmsman Michaut.
