English: Sciennes Hill House The ceilings of the first-floor flats retain the decorated cornices of the 18th-century house before alteration. It is believed that these rooms, before sub-division, formed the large drawing-room in which the 'Ploughman Poet' met the 'Wizard of the North', aka Robert Burns and Walter Scott.
