| Description |
English: For the flagpole of the School by the Sea in the Loog on the East Frisian island of Juist in Prussia, a small dune was chosen as an elevated location, which was southeast of the school area. A walled foundation was built on top of this and finally the flagpole was erected. The flag of the S.a.M. showed their figurative mark, in addition the up to nine comradeships raised their differently colored pennants, for which they named their comradeship (bears, dolphins, foals, vultures, penguins, seals, pinnipeds, bulls and wolves) realized as a signet. In addition, the flag of the Weimar Republic and the flag of the Free State of Prussia fluttered on the flagpole. In 1933/34 the flag of Weimar Republic got replaced by the former flag of imperial time plus the swastika flag. The flag field still exists today, but without a mast. In a sense, it marked the corner between the two school buildings Jenseits (= the beyond), the accommodation for middle school students and Westfalenhalle (Westphalia hall) providing workshops, heating system, laundry, showers and bathtubs. Westfalenhalle is partially visible on the right of this picture, while the lower building Jenseits on this picture due to the photographer's position is hidden behind the flag field's surrounding wall. Just a faction of it can be recognized on the left of the brick wall. These buildings were demolished in 1952 and 1960 respectively. South of it lay the duck pond (today: alder pond) and some of the vegetable gardens of the S.a.M.'
Français : Pour l'hampe de Schule am Meer dans le Loog sur l'île de la Frise orientale de Juist en Prusse, une petite dune a été choisie comme emplacement surélevé, au sud-est de la zone de l'école. Une fondation murée a été construite au-dessus de cela et finalement le mât a été érigé. Le drapeau de la S.a.M. a montré leur marque figurative. De plus, jusqu'à neuf camaraderies ont levé leurs fanions de différentes couleurs, pour lesquelles ils ont réalisé le nom de leur camaraderie (ours, taureaux, dauphins, poulains, phoques, pingouins, pinnipèdes, vautours et loups) comme un signet. De plus, le drapeau de la République de Weimar et le drapeau de l'État libre de Prusse flottaient sur le mât. En 1933/34, le drapeau de la République de Weimar a été remplacé par l'ancien drapeau de l'époque impériale plus le drapeau à croix gammée. Le champ de drapeaux existe encore aujourd'hui, mais sans mât. En quelque sorte, il marquait l'angle entre les deux bâtiments scolaires, Jenseits (= au-delà), l'hébergement pour élèves masculin de niveau moyen) et Westfalenhalle (= Hall Westphalie) abrité l'ateliers, chauffage, buanderie, douches et baignoires). Ces bâtiments ont été démolis en 1952 et 1960 respectivement. Au sud de celle-ci se trouvaient la mare aux canards (aujourd'hui : mare aux aulnes) et quelques des potagers de la S.a.M.
Deutsch: Für den Flaggenmast der Schule am Meer im Loog auf der ostfriesischen Insel Juist in Preußen wurde eine kleine Düne als erhöhter Standort gewählt, die südöstlich des schulischen Areals lag. Darauf wurde ein ummauertes Fundament erstellt und schließlich der Fahnenmast errichtet. Die Flagge der S.a.M. zeigte deren Bildmarke, zusätzlich zogen die bis zu neun Kameradschaften ihre verschiedenfarbigen Wimpel auf, für die sie den Namen ihrer Kameradschaft (Bären, Delphine, Füllen, Geier, Pinguine, Robben, Seehunde, Stiere und Wölfe) als Signet realisierten. Außerdem flatterten am Fahnenmast die Flagge der Weimarer Republik (schwarz-rot-gold) und die Flagge des Freistaates Preußen (schwarz-weiß). 1933/34 wurde die Flagge der Weimarer Republik durch die alte Kaiserzeitflagge ersetzt und die Hakenkreuzflagge aufgezogen. Der Flaggenplatz existiert noch heute, allerdings ohne Mast. Er markierte in gewissem Sinn den Eckpunkt zwischen den beiden Schulgebäuden Jenseits (Unterkunft der Mittelstufenschüler) und Westfalenhalle (Werkstätten, Heizungsanlage, Wäscherei, Duschen/Badewannen). Ein Stück der Westfalenhalle erkennt man rechts auf dem Bild, ein kleines Stückchen der niedrigeren Baracke Jenseits sieht man links neben der gemauerten Umrandung des Flaggenplatzes. Diese Gebäude wurden 1952 bzw. 1960 abgerissen. Südlich davon lagen der Ententeich (heute: Erlenteich) und Gemüsegärten der S.a.M. Links im Bild mit Walmdach erkennt man noch ein Stück des Wohngebäudes Arche für die ältesten Schüler, die Lehrerfamilie Dr. Reiner und Lehrerin Neumann. |
