Summary
[edit]DescriptionSchule am Meer - Arche 2163 4 5.jpg |
English: South-easterly view: 'Arche' (= Ark) of progressive Schule am Meer (= School by the Sea) on Juist Island, North Sea. Built in 1927 the building is now part of the island's youth hostel. For the former school it was part of their accomodation facilities, occupied by the eldest pupils who lived in single rooms, a single female teacher and another teacher's family: Dr. Paul Reiner (1886–1932), his wife Anni who was also a teacher and their four daughters. The lawn in front of this picture marks the place where formerly 'Jenseits' (= Afterworld) was located, another residential building for up to 42 pupils and two teachers.
42 S.a.M.-Schüler und 2 Lehrerzimmer untergebracht waren. |
