English: U.S. Space Force Lt. Col. Michael Schriever, Chief of the Engine Room for Space Training and Readiness Command, gives a speech about his grandfather, Gen. Bernard A. Schriever, during the 25th anniversary of the base’s renaming on Schriever Space Force Base on June 21, 2023. Lt. Col. Schriever initially enlisted into the U.S. Navy and spent 12 years as a Navy nuclear operator before commissioning the United States Air Force in 2004.
