Pupilinow often study geography for months, and even foryears, learning definitions, and bounding States and Coun-tries, without hioiving for themselves the form of the Earth,or possessing any distinct idea of zones, latitude, longi-tude, etc. A good eight-inch globe, like that representedat Fig. 11, which will cost from $6 00 to $10 00, in thehands of a Teacher who is in any degree competent to inrstruct, will enable him to impart more instruction in rela-tion to zones, latitude and longitude, day and night, thecurrents of the oce^n, etc., in sis days, than has often beenacquired in as many m.onttis.
