They are in-stalled in corridors and have proven most suc-cessful. In gymnasiums, where the storage ofmuch clothing is called for, the steel locker hasbecome an absolute necessity. A new type of wardrobe is being introduced inNew York and Chicago, which consists of woodor steel cupboards, fitted with doors sliding ver-tically in casements. They are equipped withhooks and racks and so constructed that inde-pendent ventilation with the regular ventilationsystem is possible. While some doubt might ex-ist as to their practicability, they unquestionablyeffect a saving in space over the cloakroom asalso the original cost of construction.
