Français : Schéma locomotive électrique type 243 de la DR (Deutsche Reichsbahn), compagnie d'état de l'ex-RDA.

Le prototype, codifié 212, est présenté au printemps 1982. La production démarre rapidement aux ateliers LEW Hennigsdorf, au nord-ouest de Berlin, pour s'établir à plus de 630 exemplaires. C'est donc un joli succès pour l'industrie est-allemande d'autant que, lors de la réunification, la série est reprise à l'ouest, où elle reçoit le matricule 143.

D'une puissance de 3 750 kW ces machines de 82t sont limitées à 120 km/h, ce qui s'avère insuffisant en traction voyageurs. Des séries aptes à 160 km/h, les 112 et 114, en ont donc été extrapolées.

Die Mappe "Lokomotiven" hat keine ISBN und wurde von der DEWAG Halle erstellt und von der Deutschen Reichsbahn auf Eisenbahnveranstaltungen vermarktet. Der in der Mappe angegebene W. Dietmann ist nach dem damaligen DDR-Recht nicht der Urheberrechtsinhaber, sondern die DEWAG. Die DEWAG war ein Betrieb der SED: Deutsche Werbe- und Anzeigengesellschaft. Das Parteivermögen der SED-Betriebe und damit deren Urheberrechte sind auf die BRD übergegangen. Daher wird Lizenzfreiheit gemäß {{PD-GermanGov}} angenommen.
