Summary
[edit]DescriptionSchmetterlingshorst Berlin 05.jpg |
English: The Schmetterlingshorst is a historical trip restaurant at the Langer See (lake) in the locality Köpenick in Berlins borough Treptow-Köpenick, Germany. It was opened in 1898, heavily bombed in 1943 and reconstructed since 1947. Since the end of the 1990s the former garden restaurant is operated as a school, sports and hiking base by the sports association Treptow-Köpenick e.V. For excursionists the base offers snacks and tables, chairs and play attributes in the garden (state 2012). In an associated hall there is presented a butterfly collection, which is according to information from the base the second largest collection of its type in Europe and the largest in Germany. The name Schmetterlingshorst refers to this collection (Schmetterling – german for: papillon; horst – german for: nest). |
