Ernst war das vierte Kind und der zweite Sohn von Johann von Sachsen (ab 1854 König von Sachsen) und Amalie Auguste von Bayern. Prinz Ernest starb unverheiratet im Alter von 16 Jahren. Er ist in der königlichen Krypta des Dreifaltigkeitskathedrals in Dresden beigesetzt. |
