Deutsch: Der Schlossgarten und Park
Das Parterre wurde zur Landesgartenschau der Stadt Rheda- Wiedenbrück nach historischen Plänen aus dem 19. Jahrhundert rekonstruiert. Der Garten dient heute zur Erholung der Bevölkerung und der Besucher. An den Rand des Schlossgartens wurde von Fürst Gustav zu Bentheim- Tecklenburg gegen Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts die Orangerie im klassizistischen Stil erbaut. Derzeit wird das Gebäude für kulturelle Veranstaltungen genutzt. Der Schlosspark ist gerahmt von der Ems, der Hirschwiese und dem Roten Pfuhl. Diese Grundstruktur war bereits im 17, Jahrhundert vorhanden. Damals entstand ein dreieckiges Sternboskett mit hohen Buchenhecken, dessen Form sich noch heute erahnen läßt. Die Schlosswiesen hinter dem Schloss wurden ehemals als Bleichen genutzt. Anlässlich der Landesgartenschau 1988 wurde die Fläche zu einem Naturschutzgebiet entwickelt. Angrenzend daran ist der Park der Flora Westfalica mit vielen Attraktionen für jede Altersgruppe. |
