Deutsch: Schönheide im Erzgebirge: Evangelisch-Methodistische-Kirche auf der Oberen Straße nicht weit vom Rathaus entfernt, aus dem 1906. Ernst Flath: Aus dem Erzgebirge. Geschichte von Schönheide, Schönheiderhammer und Neuheide. Komissionsverlag von Armin Stopps Buchhandlung, Schönheide o.J. (1909) schreibt: "Im Besitz einer schönen Kapelle ist die Methodistengemeinde. Diese gehört zu den 'Gesellschaften des Zwickauer Bezirks der Bischöflichen Methodistenkirche im Königreiche Sachen' (eingetr. Verein) und besteht nunmehr 10 Jahre lang. Ihre Gottesdienste hielt die Gemeinde bis zum Sommer 1906 in einem gepachteten Fabriksaale ab. Die sodann geschaffene Kapelle, in erhöhter schöner Lage des untern Ortstheiles befindlich, wurde Sonntag, den 9. September 1906, feierlich eingeweiht. Das Gebäude war ehemals die Weberei der hiesigen Wollwarendruckfabrik und ging durch Kauf in die Hände der Methodistengemeinde über. Baumeister Schmidt hier hat es verstanden, dieses alte Gebäude vollständig umzuwandeln. Das Ganze macht einen freundlichen Eindruck, enthält einen Saal, Wohnräume, Musikzimmer und ist in gotischem Stil gehalten. Am Einweihungstage waren mehrere Prediger anwesend. Die Anzahl der Gemeindeglieder soll zur Zeit der Kapellenweihe gegen 500 betragen haben und sich seitdem bis auf die Gegenwart um einige Hundert vermehrt haben. Den Kirchennachrichten gemäß sind Erbauungsstunden, Predigtgottesdienste, Schwesternvereins- und Jugendbundeszusammenkünfte, Evangelisations- und Blaukreuzversammlungen und dgl. die hauptsächlichen Veranstaltungen der Gemeinde (an Sonn- und Feiertagen vor- und nachmittags, an Werktagen abends)." |
